We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the third phase (Armstrong) of our incentivised testnet (Project Artemis), clearing the way for our mainnet launch on the 25th of January. We are grateful to you for your active participation as validators and developers in the “stress test” phase of the testnet. Your inputs have enabled us to explore the limits of our network and emerge with positive reassurance as we approach the fourth and final phase (Collins) of the incentivised testnet in early January.
Since Armstrong’s commencement two weeks ago, developers have been able to experiment with our new NFT module, build and deploy smart contracts, as well as flood the network with an unusually high volume of transactions, as part of our broader aim of straining the network and validating its readiness for next month’s mainnet launch.
Project Artemis commenced in September with phase one (Apollo) and saw the onboarding of over 20,000 developers, which provided much-needed insights for implementing network upgrades. Validators who successfully performed tasks in phases 1 and 2 have received rewards. In contrast, Developers and the remaining Validators who participated in these phases will receive dividends after the mainnet launch next month.
In Phase 2 (Buzz), we launched the Cudos Network ecosystem enabling developers to experiment with smart contracts and build on our network. Phase 3 incentivised developers to subject the network to a series of adversarial stress tests and provide feedback on its performance over two weeks. Responses to the tasks indicate that although the block explorer slowed down and had to undergo minor maintenance, the main chain held out firm, and the network kept running!
Following the response evaluation, we will begin rewarding whitelisted validators who completed tasks in Phase 3 in the coming weeks.
Upcoming Phase 4
Project Artemis phase four (Collins) will be commencing on January 10th. Collins will see the implementation of migration testing to perform a dry run of our genesis and token migration plan for the new native Cudos Network. You can still join the testnet as a developer and claim some of the generous rewards on offer.
Countdown to mainnet
The big day is finally in view as we begin the countdown to the launch of our mainnet on January 25th. Preceded by four testnet phases, a burgeoning community, and a raft of high-level partnerships, we are looking forward with a great deal of anticipation and excitement. You can join the discussions on the build-up to our mainnet on any channels below.
How to join
The Cudos Network is a layer 1 blockchain and layer 2 computation and oracle network designed to ensure decentralised, permissionless access to high-performance computing at scale. It enables the scaling of computing resources to hundreds of thousands of nodes. Once bridged onto Ethereum, Algorand, Polkadot and Cosmos, Cudos will enable scalable computational and layer-two oracles on all bridged blockchains.
