We have received overwhelming support and feedback from the community since our September announcement of the public testnet (Project Artemis) and our mainnet launch.

New mainnet launch timeline

Our development team has been working hard for the mainnet launch. But we recognise that a complex community-dependent endeavour requiring joint action from so many stakeholders is not entirely within our control.  Hence, we’ve made an uncomfortable decision to delay our mainnet launch by a couple of weeks to March.

We encountered unexpected delays with some of our tasks but are confident that our updated internal ‘Path to Mainnet’ roadmap is robust enough to ensure a successful launch.

Be completely assured that our developers, testers, and everyone involved have rolled up their sleeves and are working tirelessly to resolve any outstanding issues.

Our main goal remains to secure the network and bring our community, developers, stakeholders (validators and delegators), and token-holders the best Cosmos-based network that aims to be as decentralised and secure.

Where are we now?

As part of our final phase, Collins, our product, and development teams are in the final stages of testing the mainnet launch internally. In the next step, we will instruct a number of our core validators to test the procedures alongside our teams. Then, in the final stage, we will start a full-blown dress rehearsal, where all of the validators intending to be a part of our mainnet launch will participate in the tests.

To ensure a smooth transition into the mainnet, we must complete all dependency tasks, including security patches and our phase 4 testnet.

With the change in the mainnet schedule, we have a few announcements to share regarding additional tasks and rewards for the developers, unfreezing of the address mapping tool and the staking rewards.

Re-enabling the Address Mapping tool

There is a significant update for CUDOS holders who haven’t mapped their addresses yet. With the mainnet launch rescheduled by a couple of weeks, we’ve decided to re-enable our Address Mapping Tool

This update is specifically for users who have either already staked their ERC-20 CUDOS tokens or intend to join the mainnet as a whitelisted validator. For mapping your address, follow these instructions

We redeployed the Address Mapping smart contract on January 12, 2022, so holders who mapped their address before need to use the address mapping tool again.

Rewarding the stakeholders

We realise that the delay in the mainnet launch would mean that staked tokens would be locked for an extended period. However, we understand the inconvenience caused and will be compensating the stakeholders for this illiquidity till the mainnet launch.

Below are three different staking scenarios you may fit in:

  1. You staked your tokens and performed the Address Mapping in the original mapping window.

You will continue to earn staking rewards, even after the staking contract has frozen on February 4, 2022. These staking rewards will be funded in native CUDOS tokens to the mapped address once we launch the mainnet. This will be alongside the principal CUDOS token holdings you hold.

2. You staked your tokens but didn’t map your address. With the Address Mapping unfrozen now, you want to map your address.

This will work the same as scenario one after mapping your Ethereum address to your Cudos address. Again, you will receive all of your staking rewards as well as your principal CUDOS token holdings into your Cudos wallet when the mainnet launches.

3. You staked your tokens but have not mapped your address and don’t wish to map before the mainnet launch.

You will get the same staking rewards once we launch the mainnet. However, they will be received as ERC-20 CUDOS tokens into your Ethereum wallet that you are using for staking. All of your CUDOS tokens will be available in your Ethereum wallet as ERC-20 tokens. You will need to use the Gravity Bridge to migrate your tokens over to the mainnet, likely incurring higher Ethereum gas fees.

Discord overhaul

One of the milestones of our ongoing Project Artemis is that we have strengthened our communication in the Discord channel. We are now revamping our Discord server to better support the community and the influx of developers who have joined us recently. This initiative will go hand-in-hand with upgrades to our ambassador programme.

We would like to thank the community for their continuous feedback, which has shaped the Discord channel to suit your needs.

So join our Discord today to engage with our growing community!

Juicy rewards for the developers

We invite the developer community to participate in the phase 4 tasks to test our network rigorously in the coming weeks. The feedback from the testing is essential to make sure the system works as expected in the mainnet.

Participating in the tasks could earn you juicy rewards for performing tasks like deploying smart contracts, deploying the gravity bridge, minting and transferring an NFT, etc.

So check out the list of tasks and rewards associated with them and join us today!

About Cudos

Cudos is powering the metaverse bringing together DeFi, NFTs, and gaming experiences to realise the vision of a decentralised Web 3.0, enabling all users to benefit from the growth of the network. We’re an interoperable, open platform launchpad that will provide the infrastructure required to meet the 1000x higher computing needs to create fully immersive, gamified digital realities. Cudos is a Layer 1 blockchain, and Layer 2 community-governed compute network designed to ensure decentralised, permissionless access to high-performance computing at scale. Our native utility token CUDOS is the lifeblood of our network and offers an attractive annual yield and liquidity for stakers and holders.
