We’re honoured by having the opportunity to lead the blockchain discussion with a panel and a keynote speech at the CryptoAM awards last week. Beyond this, we were overwhelmed by the generosity of the crypto community as we raised over £24,000 on the day, with another £20,000 contributed just from us for the Murray Parish Trust.
Last week, we participated in the CryptoAM Awards alongside industry stars and influential people and projects from the blockchain space. We were also honoured to be among the nominees for the Crypto AM’s UX/UI Award, which also signifies recognising our long-term vision and positive impact on the field.
Day 1 – leading the discussion with a panel session
On day 1 of the event, 29th of September, our VP of Sales, Pete Hill, participated in a rigorous, day-long panel. Together with peers, Pete was discussing and debating DeFi, the Metaverse and Web 3.0.
As thought leaders in the field and champions of blockchain adoption, we were glad to have the opportunity of exchanging views in an enlightening discussion with experts from the field. The discussion also focused on NFTs, an area in which we’ll be expanding soon. Naturally, the debate focused on their role and potential as DeFi instruments.
Additionally, the intellectual stimulation provided by these game-changing topics was intensified by an enigmatic moderator. Non-other than Sienna Network’s evangelist and long-time English-born tech journalist Monty Munford facilitated the discussion.
Day 2 – thought leadership keynote and charitable event
On the 30th of September, day 2 of the event, the star of the show was our founder and CEO, Matt Hawkins. Matt is not only our founder but also a blockchain and cloud adoption champion and a recognised voice in the field.
Last week he was a keynote speaker at a conference with over 100 family offices. Additionally, over the weekend, an insightful piece written by him was featured by Cointelegraph. In the article, Matt shared his thought on why the focus of the blockchain climate discussion is missing the point.
At the Crypto AM conference, however, the focus was more on educating an in-person and online audience on the ins and outs of our network. Matt explained some of the details of our incentivised testnet, Project Artemis, and then discussed our plans for our mainnet launch and the partnerships that will support it.
The CryptoAM awards evening was another highlight of the two-day conference. We were delighted and overwhelmed by the generosity of the community. In total, we raised more than £44,000, far exceeding Murray Parish Trust’s humble target of £6,000. We’re proud to say that almost half of the total contribution came from us with a donation of CUDOS tokens equivalent to £20,000.
The Murray Parish Trust supports children’s emergency services across the South of England. The charity raises money and awareness to assist projects at key trauma centres. Additionally, they enable pioneering research and provide life-saving equipment.
“We were incredibly humbled and honoured to be chosen as the primary charity at the CryptoAM awards. We are passionate advocates of digital currencies partnering with charities. As a pioneering, disruptive charity ourselves, we believe there is plenty of opportunity for synergies between the two sectors. After much deliberation, we are delighted to announce that we have chosen Cudos and their native CUDOS token as our crypto partner. We have a shared vision with a strong philanthropic ethos and look forward to a long and prosperous partnership,” commended Jim Murray, the co-founder of the Murray Parish Trust.
This is just another proof of the fact that charity is in our DNA. As a reminder, recently, we supported our friend Ben in his 500-mile North Coast charity bike ride challenge as we doubled all donations up to £5,000.
